Legal notice (mentions légales)
This page gives the identification details that French law asks of the publisher of a website (loi n° 2004-575 du 21 juin 2004, article 1-1).
Publisher
The site is published by a private individual, on a non-professional basis. The site earns no income, and sponsorship is not open yet (see Sponsors).
Article 1-1, II of the law allows a person who publishes on a non-professional basis to give only the name and address of the host. The publisher uses that option for the site: no postal address and no phone number are published.
The publisher of the site and of the newsletter is Thomas Rambaut, who is also responsible for the personal data of the newsletter (see Privacy).
Host
- Name: Cloudflare, Inc.
- Address: 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA
- Phone: +1 (650) 319-8930
Contact and right of reply
Email: contact@rulefiles.dev. To report a mistake in the data, use the channel on the About page. For personal data, see the Privacy page.
Anyone named or designated on this site has a right of reply (article 1-1, III). As no postal address is published, send the request to the publisher at contact@rulefiles.dev or privacy@rulefiles.dev, with a copy to the host, which passes it on to the director of publication without delay. It has to be made within three months of the date the message was made available to the public. It is sent by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt, or by any other means that proves who sent it and that it was received (décret n° 2007-1527 du 24 octobre 2007), and it says which message and which passages are concerned and what the reply says.
Names, quotations and independence
Rulefiles is an independent project. It is not affiliated with Cursor, Anthropic, OpenAI, GitHub or Google. Product names belong to their owners and are used only to say which tool a line is about.
Digest items and matrix notes quote short excerpts from official pages. Each one names the source and links to it. The quoted words belong to their authors. The code is under the MIT license, and the data and the text under CC BY 4.0, as set out on the About page.
Personal data and cookies
The site sets no cookies. The personal data collected is the email address of people who subscribe to the newsletter, and the messages people send to the contact addresses. The Privacy page says who is responsible for it, why it is used, how long it is kept and how to use your rights.
